Endeavor’s original proposal to develop The Bowie Apartments (née 3eleven) on the bank of Shoal Creek was shot down by City of Austin Planning Commission on the grounds that a pecan tree on the site should be protected. The Planning Commission was not against the project, per se, just that configuration. The project has evolved into a new design that permits the tree to be moved elsewhere on site. The architect, HKS, was also the architect of the luxury Ashton Apartment tower.
The Bowie is expected to be a similar luxury-style downtown Austin apartment building.
