The Austin Proper Hotel & Residences, with its lodging and restaurant operations already open for business as of last month, has begun the closing process for its residential units this week, with owners expected to begin moving in soon.
Announced by Los Angeles-based real estate development firm the Kor Group all the way back in 2015, this 32-story downtown Austin condo tower at 600 West Second Street stands just one block north of the striking Google office tower under construction at Block 185, and features 99 units located in the top 20 floors of the structure. We’ve already taken a look at the peculiar owl statues at the base of the tower — needless to say, this building and its surroundings both have lots of character.
It’s a big milestone for the project, really its final step before completion — along with Fifth & West, 70 Rainey, and the Independent, the Proper represents the last of the four Austin condo towers built in the last few years to commence closings.
