Hi Everyone,
Jude here from TOWERS with an update for all the readers who’ve reached out, curious about the future of the site, so I wanted to share what’s happening. The short version: The real estate development blog as you’ve known it is no more.
Some readers (not all!) may be disappointed to read this. Fortunately, sources like The Austin Monitor, KUT, The Real Deal, SkyscraperPage, BizJournal, Jack Craver‘s newsletter, TheATX and r/Austin are already filling any gap we might leave behind.
What’s changing:
The real estate industry is transforming, along with how consumers seek out information—and we’re evolving with it. In the coming weeks, the site will debut a fresh look as we experiment with new products focused on supporting our clients. This new direction may not resonate with everyone, and if you choose to unfollow, I completely understand. More on this later.
Of course, James Rambin’s contributions to the site cannot be overstated. Since joining us in 2016 and quickly becoming the site’s editor, he not only helped triple our readership but, more importantly, his unique voice kept us entertained. A mixture of deep research, appreciation for history, and delighting in all things off-kilter. This is how we approached making real estate interesting to a wider audience. Along the way, I believe TOWERS contributed to the overall discourse in the city, too.
I’m deeply grateful for your support over the years. Thanks to the readers who became our firm’s clients, making this possible—without ads, paywall, or outside influences. We’ve watched Austin grow up together.
– Jude
