Hey, remember the new Marriott hotel planned at the block just west of the convention center on Cesar Chavez Street? Sure you do!
We’ve seen some evidence of site prep at the address in the last few months, but today, demolition’s kicking off in earnest on the southwest corner of the block. The building at 101 San Jacinto Boulevard, former home of various restaurants including Dona Emilia’s and Casa Chapala, is basically a pile of rubble at this point:
We’re excited to see this project finally underway — I wonder if they’ll end up building those skybridges connecting the hotel to the convention center after all? Stay tuned!
